Want to get involved? We're currently recruiting students to get involved with the support center for a variety of roles. Email [email protected] for more information or fill out this form!
- Peer Leaders: Students are needed to run small group discussions about the challenges that face graduate students. Discussions and training will include free food and the training is simple and easy!
- One-on-one support: Want to get involved but don't have much free time? We're looking for students that would be willing to be available for peers in need of one-on-one support. We will match you with a peer (as needed) based on your experience and personality to chat with about once a week.
- Team Leaders: We are in need of a small number of students to volunteer as organizational leaders! If you have a passion for helping your fellow students and want to take on a bigger role in our organization we would love to have you!
- Small Group Sessions: Check out our list of small groups that are already meeting on campus (coming soon). It's a great opportunity to meet fellow students and discuss the problems and pressures of graduate school.
Training to be a peer leader is organized as demanded. It includes 3 lunchtime seminars (1 hour each) covering communication skills, leadership skills, peer support techniques and FAQs, as well as Question, Persuade, and Refer (QPR) training for suicide prevention. Notes from these sessions can be accessed here for reference.
